Enterprise IT leaders face mounting pressure to deliver infrastructure that scales seamlessly, maintains data sovereignty, and ensures business continuity in an increasingly complex hybrid cloud landscape. With the release of NCI 7.5, Nutanix is addressing these critical challenges head-on, introducing capabilities that redefine what organizations can expect from their hybrid cloud management platform.

The latest enhancements to Nutanix Prism management console, and the broader Nutanix Cloud Platform, demonstrate our commitment to helping enterprises build resilient, sovereign, and infinitely scalable infrastructure—without compromising operational simplicity.

Enterprise Scale That Matches Your Ambitions

As organizations modernize their infrastructure, they need assurance that their management platform can grow alongside their business objectives. NCI 7.5 delivers validated enterprise-scale architecture (login required) supporting up to 10,000 VMs per Prism Central, 2,000 hosts, and 25,000 categories with 125,000 entity associations—putting Nutanix on par with traditional virtualization leaders while maintaining the simplicity that defines our platform.

This isn't theoretical scalability. These limits have been rigorously tested according to Nutanix Validated Designs (NVD), proving that the validated solutions for disaster recovery, backup operations, and networking function reliably at enterprise scale. For organizations managing distributed environments across multiple sites, this validation provides the confidence needed to standardize on a single management plane.

Introducing Nutanix Infrastructure Manager to Deploy at Scale

Complementing this scale is the introduction of the Nutanix Infrastructure Manager solution, a vital automation service that eliminates the complexity of deploying management and application domains. What once required months of planning and specialized expertise can now be accomplished through guided workflows and APIs that automatically build NVD-conformant data centers. Nutanix Infrastructure Manager streamlines deployment while alleviating configuration drift—those "snowflake" deployments that create operational nightmares during upgrades and troubleshooting. In its first iteration, Nutanix Infrastructure Manager will handle onboarding management domains and deploy multiple Application Domain PCs. Subsequent updates to Nutanix Infrastructure Manager will simplify cluster additions and upgrades.

Sovereignty, Control, and Compliance for Regulated Industries

Data sovereignty isn't optional for enterprises in finance, healthcare, the federal government, and other highly regulated sectors. While SaaS solutions offer convenience, they often cannot meet stringent regulatory requirements that mandate data remain within specific geographic and operational boundaries.

NCI 7.5 addresses this challenge with Nutanix Central On-Premises, delivering the same centralized management capabilities of our SaaS offering while allowing organizations to maintain control over their data within their own data centers. This deployment option provides compliance-conscious enterprises with the unified management experience they need to streamline compliance with regulatory requirements.

Resiliency and Business Continuity Redefined

Modern enterprises cannot afford infrastructure downtime. NCI 7.5 introduces enhancements that strengthen disaster recovery capabilities and expand backup flexibility. Support for S3-compatible object stores for Prism Central backups means organizations can now leverage existing storage investments from certified providers like Wasabi.

This flexibility is about risk mitigation. By supporting multiple backup targets, enterprises can implement geographically distributed backup strategies that align with their business continuity requirements. The ability to restore Prism Central from continuous backup onto any Prism Element cluster—regardless of prior registration—further enhances disaster recovery agility, enabling quick recovery times when every minute counts.

Simplified Operations at Every Level

The expansion of Nutanix Marketplace with new applications—including the Nutanix Central On-Premises, Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP), Nutanix Infrastructure Manager, and Nutanix Data Lens solutions—creates a unified platform for accessing and deploying first-party and partner applications. This ecosystem approach reduces integration complexity while accelerating time-to-value for new capabilities.

The Path Forward

NCI 7.5 is a big step forward in creating a hybrid cloud infrastructure that tackles the daily issues IT leaders are dealing with in the enterprise world. By combining validated enterprise-scale, flexible disaster recovery options, on-premises sovereignty controls, and simplified operations, this release empowers organizations to build infrastructure that supports business objectives rather than constraining them.

As hybrid cloud environments continue to evolve, the principles underlying NCI 7.5—resiliency, sovereignty, and scale—will remain foundational to enterprise success. Organizations that prioritize these capabilities position themselves to respond to market dynamics, regulatory changes, and operational demands with confidence.
