VMware by Broadcom has announced that vSphere 8 will reach End of General Support in October 2027. After this date, customers may no longer receive standard security patches, bug fixes, or full technical support unless they migrate to Broadcom’s subscription‑based platforms, such as VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). Some organizations may have the option to migrate to vSphere Foundation (VVF), but it is not available in all regions. Moving to VCF 9 represents a significant architectural and operational shift, introducing new lifecycle management models, mandatory bundled components, and the removal or deprecation of multiple commonly used VMware features. Broadcom has retired perpetual licensing, consolidated VMware’s product portfolio into a small number of bundled subscriptions, and increased enforcement of license compliance. Migrating earlier—before support deadlines and forced platform changes—gives organizations greater control over timelines, budgets, and architectural decisions.

AHV is NOT a stand-alone solution and is the cornerstone of our Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure platform.
