The Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) 7.5 release has arrived. This isn't a minor update; it's a strategic leap forward. We are providing the tools to automate complex operations, the expansion of your choice of hardware and the ability to harden your infrastructure for any workload. These become the foundation on your journey to building a distributed sovereign cloud and we've focused our innovation on three areas that matter most: Resilience, Security and Global Management.

Resilience: Building an Enduring, Highly-Availability Infrastructure

Your business continuity and disaster recovery is non-negotiable. NCI 7.5 continues to deliver enterprise-grade resiliency to ensure your applications and data are protected.

Massively Scale Critical Workloads: You can now drive up to 185TB of All-Flash capacity per node, a 2x increase, with new or existing clusters, while maintaining a 1-hour RPO. This lets you efficiently scale capacity for your applications.
Define Application Uptime: We're automating your recovery with the new VM Startup Policy in Nutanix AHV. You can now define dependency chains (e.g., database before app server) to have multi-tier applications restart in the correct order after any HA event or cluster reboot.
Execute Multi-Strategy DR: Enterprises need multi-layered protection. You can now configure multiple replication targets from a single source, mixing Sync, NearSync, and Async replication within one Protection Policy to protect data across multiple locations.
Validate Before You Commit: After a failover, you need to validate data before replicating it back. We’ve introduced Recovery Plan Staging, giving you the control to pause automatic reverse replication and preserve data integrity.
Protect More Workloads: Our DR capabilities now scale to meet the largest enterprise needs, supporting 10,000 VMs for all RPO types and scaling to 2,000 Volume Groups for synchronous replication per Prism Central.

Security and Control: Harden Your Infrastructure

NCI 7.5 is hardened from the inside out, giving you granular control to reduce your attack surface and help you meet your security and compliance mandates.

Unify Container & VM Networking: Stop managing network silos. The new Nutanix Flow Virtual Networking (FVN) CNI Plugin delivers a unified, VPC-based networking fabric for Kubernetes. This aligns your pod networking with the same simple constructs you already use for your VMs.
Prevent Time-Spoofing: For banking, government, and other secure sectors, we now support Authenticated NTP. This secures your time services using strong SHA algorithms to protect your logs and applications from tampering.
Centralize Key Management: You can now use your existing 3rd-party Key Management Server (KMS) to store encryption keys for the Nutanix AHV hypervisor’’s virtual TPMs (vTPM), giving you a centralized point of control for your organization's security posture.
Automate Windows Deployments: We're removing the potential inconsistencies with VM deployments. You can now create reusable Guest Customization Profiles to automatically handle sysprep, domain joins and IP settings when you clone a VM or deploy from a template.

Global Management: Simplify Your Distributed Infrastructure

This release gives you the freedom to leverage existing investments and simplifies management, from initial deployment to day-2 operations, even at a massive scale.

Integrate Your Existing Pure Storage: We’re giving you unprecedented freedom. You can now deploy NCI on your qualified existing server hardware and connect directly to Pure Storage FlashArray //X and //XL models. This new "NCI with External Storage" uses high-speed NVMe-oF/TCP, allowing you to adopt the Nutanix software experience while leveraging your current storage investments. This integration is also fully supported by our native asynchronous DR.
Automate "Dark Site" Upgrades: Managing upgrades in secure, air-gapped environments is no longer a manual, error-prone process. The new LCM Dark Site Orchestrator (LCM DUO) provides a self-service workflow to identify, download and stage the exact bundles you need, removing the guesswork.
Configure Cisco Networking from Day Zero: We are tightening our Cisco integration. Foundation Central now configures Cisco multi-vNICs during initial cluster creation. This lets you segment traffic for management, storage and VMs from the moment of deployment, saving time and streamlining post-deployment work.
Manage at Enterprise Scale: We’ve certified Prism Central (PC) to command your entire fleet. It now officially supports 10,000 VMs per PC, 2,000 hosts, and 25,000 categories with Flow Network Security and Disaster Recovery.
