Introducing Nutanix Service Provider Central for Shared Hosted, Managed, and Cloud Infrastructure, Platform, and AI Services
Service Providers are at a pivotal moment. Customer expectations are evolving rapidly. Infrastructure alone is no longer enough — enterprises are looking for trusted partners who can deliver secure, scalable, and outcome-driven cloud services on a platform ready for data and cloud-native applications and AI platforms TODAY.
At the same time, platform and licensing shifts, along with broader changes across the vendor landscape, are forcing providers to rethink how they build, operate, and monetize their offerings.
The opportunity is significant. But so is the complexity.
The next generation of Service Provider success will be defined by three things:
The ability to support multiple tenants on shared infrastructure at scale
The ability to differentiate with trusted, proven offerings
The ability to transition existing environments without disruption
At Nutanix, we’ve been working closely with Service Providers around the world to address exactly these challenges. Today, we’re taking a major step forward with new capabilities designed to help partners scale, differentiate, and bring new services to market.
Service Providers are increasingly focused on consolidating legacy and fragmented platforms into a unified model that delivers both strong operational control and the flexibility customers expect.
Nutanix Service Provider Central (SP Central) is a purpose-built control plane designed specifically for Service Providers, enabling consistent, secure, and scalable multi-tenant operations across the Nutanix Cloud Platform.
Recognizing the growing need for true multi-tenant service delivery or multitenancy, Nutanix made this a strategic priority — investing deeply in product and engineering over the past 18 months to deliver a solution purpose-built for Service Provider requirements.
SP Central builds on the proven foundation of the Nutanix Cloud Platform, extending its capabilities to deliver the control, isolation, and operational consistency required for scalable multi-tenant environments.
With this platform, providers can deliver secure tenant isolation across compute – VMs and Containers, storage – virtual disks and persistent volumes, and networking – virtual private clouds with shared infrastructure efficiency. This is designed to allow:
Standardized policy, governance, and lifecycle management across tenants
Simplified operations with a unified control plane across all infrastructure–compute, storage, and networking.
As providers look to support next-generation workloads — including data-intensive and cloud-native applications — having a scalable, multi-tenant control plane becomes foundational.
This isn’t just about enabling multi-tenancy — it’s about making it operationally viable at scale.
Service Providers want to empower their customers — without compromising control, security, or operational consistency.
With SP Central, tenants gain self-service access to the resources they need, within clearly defined guardrails set by the Service Provider.
Tenants can:
Provision and manage virtual networks (VPCs), IP addressing, and network policies
Deploy and scale virtual-machine-based workloads
Consume and manage storage resources and data services
Configure identity, access controls, and role-based permissions
Monitor usage, performance, and resource consumption within their environment
At the same time, Service Providers retain centralized control over:
Policy enforcement and governance
Resource quotas and isolation boundaries
Lifecycle management and operational consistency across tenants
The result is a model where tenants gain the flexibility and speed they expect from cloud — while Service Providers maintain the control and standardization required to operate at scale.
It’s freedom with control — not freedom instead of control.
Multitenants supported on NCI with SP Central
As Service Providers build on scalable, multi-tenant architectures, the next challenge becomes clear: how to differentiate and bring those services to market with confidence.
This is where the Powered by Nutanix program comes in.
Powered by Nutanix provides a framework for Service Providers to deliver services aligned to Nutanix best practices and validated standards — bringing greater consistency, credibility, and trust to customer-facing offerings.
Through the Verified Solutions framework, Service Providers can validate specific services — including Dedicated and Multi-tenant Private Cloud, Sovereign Cloud, Desktop as a Service (DaaS), Storage as a Service, and Disaster Recovery as a Service.
Service Providers can achieve individual Verified Solution designations for each service they bring to market, enabling them to build a portfolio of validated offerings over time.
Importantly, multi-tenant Private Cloud services enabled by SP Central are a foundational part of this framework — directly connecting platform innovation to validated, market-ready services.
As the program evolves, Nutanix will expand into additional service areas such as database services, cloud-native platforms, edge, and enterprise AI.
Together, this creates a clear model:
SP Central enables scalable service delivery
Powered by Nutanix enables those services to be validated and brought to market
At the same time, many Service Providers are navigating platform transitions.
These moments can be disruptive — but they can also be transformational.
Rather than simply migrating workloads, leading providers are using this opportunity to:
Modernize their service architectures
Introduce new multi-tenant capabilities
Expand into new high-value services, including AI and data platforms
To support this, Nutanix is introducing new onboarding incentives designed to helpreduce the cost and complexity of transition — helping providers avoid the burden of running dual platforms during migration.
The goal is simple:
Make it easier to move forward — not just move workloads.
Now is the time for Service Providers to take a proactive approach — identifying priority workloads, aligning on a transition strategy, and engaging with Nutanix teams to accelerate their path to modern, scalable service delivery.
Taken together, these announcements represent more than incremental updates.
They reflect a broader shift:
From infrastructure to platform-driven services
From one-off deployments to repeatable, validated solutions
From reactive migration to proactive transformation
Service Providers that embrace this shift will be best positioned to:
Scale efficiently
Differentiate in a crowded market
Expand into high-growth areas such as AI, data platforms, and cloud-native services
Deliver long-term customer value
We’re just getting started.
Through these innovations and our ongoing investments in partner enablement, Nutanix is committed to helping Service Providers build the next generation of cloud services.
As demand continues to grow for AI-driven services, modern applications, and flexible cloud models, Service Providers that build on scalable, validated foundations will be best positioned to lead.
