Think Solutions thinks differently about the way they work with customers. At the heart of their business strategy is a people-centric approach based on close engagements and lasting relationships.
“We pride ourselves on our people and the way we service our customers,” said Pedro Duarte, Sales Director at Think Solutions. “It’s always easy when everything is going great with a customer, but we believe that the true test of a company is to be by their side if anything goes wrong, helping them work through the issue. We grow organically; we’re not the sort of MSP that aggressively acquires 100 customers a year and churns through them. Our core focus is to keep the customers that we have really happy, and to make sure that they stay with us over the long term.”
Since 2013, Nutanix and Think Solutions have worked closely together to deliver the business outcomes that customers need most. A Nutanix Elevate partner, Think Solutions offers a wide range of solutions, including the Nutanix Cloud Platform, Nutanix Unified Storage, Nutanix Kubernetes Platform, Nutanix Enterprise AI, and more.
“We stay current across the products that are being released, continually upskill, and offer them to customers,” said Duarte. “Our internal infrastructure runs on Nutanix, so we’re comfortable advising them to go in that direction, because we are doing it ourselves.”
For customers who prefer not to manage their own environments, Nutanix also plays a fundamental role in enabling managed services offerings from Think Solutions.
“From a service provider perspective, we are all about multi-tenanted infrastructure as a service and dedicated disaster recovery as a service with everything that we offer,” said Duarte. “Our objective is to deliver a project and deliver it well, and then, after the project's finished, also wrap the managed service around it.”
Think Solutions and Nutanix collaborate closely through the Nutanix Elevate Service Provider program, which offers business development and other benefits that unlock rapid pipeline growth and help partners accelerate time to close.

Nutanix is the enabling solution behind Think Solutions’ Think as a Service offerings. Its SMB customers find the offers attractive because shifting from a CapEx to OpEx approach can help them free up cash flow, and enables them to invest in core operations. The two options available are Think Infrastructure as a Service (Think IaaS) and Think Disaster Recovery as a Service (Think DRaaS). Nutanix is not only the underlying technology behind these offers but also provides helpful migration and management capabilities.
“We recently migrated a large radiology provider from Broadcom to Nutanix utilizing Nutanix Move, and we were able to migrate three hundred terabytes of data within a week—seamlessly, with minimal downtime,” said Duarte. “The customer was very pleased with our ability to shift very quickly to their new Nutanix environment.”
Customers also appreciate the Nutanix Prism management console and its ability to expedite administrative tasks and updates.
“Prism provides the ability for us and the customer to seamlessly manage a platform to avoid downtime when we're doing maintenance,” said Duarte. “Long gone are the days where an IT technician would need wake up at dawn to start work doing upgrades and taking things offline. With many of our managed services customers, we perform maintenance during business hours because we know that performance isn't impacted, and the environment doesn't go offline.”
Nutanix allows Think Solutions to provide co-management capabilities to its customers through the self-service portal, using the Nutanix Cloud Manager solution.
“Using blueprints makes it easy for the customer to provision workloads on our platform,” said Duarte.
Purchasing services is easy for customers, because Think Solutions utilizes an extremely simple approach to contracting.
“We are very transparent of what the costs are going to be upfront, and there are no hidden costs,” said Duarte. “The tangible components that we price are all included in our proposals, so customers know not only what they will pay today, but they can reference the proposal and understand what their costs will be if their business grows and evolves. For our platform, we charge per vCPU, per gigabyte of RAM, and per terabyte of storage. That’s as simple as it gets, and we offer a variety of connectivity options as well.”
The flexible Nutanix technology, backed by expert Think Solutions management, has enabled the organization to position itself for unique opportunities in the SMB and mid-market space.
“We have found that many customers, especially smaller ones, find public clouds too expensive,” said Duarte. “We found a niche where customers that don't want to lock up capital and invest capital in buying their own equipment, but they also don't want to go to the public cloud, because they're concerned about the hidden costs.”

“We have recently onboarded a new tenant, a recently acquired law firm. They had on-premises infrastructure that they didn't want to maintain,” said Duarte. “They came to us to take on the infrastructure of that business, which they needed to maintain for compliance for a period of time.”
Although Think Solutions primarily focuses on serving SMB and mid-sized enterprises, Nutanix also provides the agility and leading-edge features it needs to expand its market reach to capture opportunities with larger customers.
“I've got a large multinational, manufacturing/wholesale client that is looking to move their whole infrastructure to us, and that would be quite big—the biggest customer on our platform,” said Duarte. “We react to customer needs, and we have adjusted our agreement to include Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) edge licensing. We are already having use cases where customers are asking if they can augment infrastructure, with a one- or two-node edge site at their location. If a customer chooses to deploy their cluster in a dedicated scenario on their premises, we can accommodate it, and we'd still wrap it around our service provider model.”
Think Solutions is continually innovating to support changing customer demands, and its close partnership with Nutanix helps the company keep pace with nonstop changes.
“We made a conscious decision when we partnered with Nutanix to follow a reference architecture,” said Duarte. “We were part of the Nutanix Elevate Service Provider early access program, and also the first partner globally to adopt the reference architecture for the Nutanix Service Provider platform. As Nutanix releases new functionality into the platform, we automatically get the benefits of that.”
Duarte and his team are also exploring the best ways to give customers access to advanced technologies such as AI.
“Where we see this platform going is a reaction to what the market is demanding, so, for example, we're looking at containers as a service utilizing the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform,” said Duarte. “We're also looking at Nutanix Enterprise AI to fulfill customers’ demands for AI. Here in Australia, everyone knows they need to do it, but no one really knows how they're going to adapt it to their business. Our offerings can give them an opportunity to test AI to see if it will fit, before investing in their own AI solutions.”
