IADT entrusts Nutanix to keep its technological infrastructure secure

The Argentine Institute of Diagnosis and Treatment decided to renew and extend their Nutanix contract after numerous benefits since initial implementation

Business Need/Overview

IADT provides highly complex care in operating rooms, hemodynamics, intensive care for adult and pediatric patients, coronary unit, maternity, and neonatology. With 1,200 employees, the organization is dedicated to providing excellent care based on operational efficiency and professional ethics with the latest technology. In 2015, IADT sought out a technology partner to provide hyperconverged infrastructure as part of an internal reengineering project to replace outdated architecture. They found the right partner in Nutanix who since initial implementation has helped IADT reduce costs and speed up work times by 20-30%. These immense benefits contributed to IADT’s decision to renew and extend their Nutanix contract in 2020.

Key Results

Reduced costs
Sped up work times by 20-30%
Improved performance
Eliminated the need to invest in the licenses required by previous platforms.Simplified processes led to acceleration of work times.Better performance, response of user services, and administration throughout the organization.

Over the years, we have been able to confirm that the Nutanix offer is real. All the information transfer and management is done in a straightforward manner without complications.

CHALLENGE

In 2015, IADT was looking to expand its storage capacity which was insufficient to handle all the daily processes within the traditional architecture with which it was working. To solve this issue, the organization began an internal reengineering project that included changes in technology and improvements to its systems and processes.

Solution

As part of the project and their commitment to staying at the forefront of information technology, IADT decided to partner with Nutanix to take advantage of their hyperconverged infrastructure. The partnership made IADT one of the first entities in Argentina to acquire Nutanix technology, a risk they felt confident in because they saw clear future benefits for their business.

After several years working with Nutanix services under their previous hypervisor, IADT decided to renew and extend their contract with the technology company, thanks to the excellence and benefits experienced since its initial implementation.

“Over the years, we have been able to confirm that the Nutanix offer is real. All the information transfer and management is done in a straightforward manner without complications,” shares Gabriel García, Head of Technology and Information Security at IADT.

Customer Outcome

During the first stage of the migration in 2015, IADT transitioned all the information to Nutanix nodes while keeping the old hypervisor they were already working with as part of the organization’s internal reengineering project.

The Nutanix migration contributed significantly to their improved performance, response of user services, and administration, and the decrease of more than 30% in process time, thanks to the simplification of the work.

IADT also reported significant energy and cost savings. The cost savings stemmed from their utilization of the same Nutanix hypervisor that is included free of charge which eliminated the need to invest in the licenses required by the previous platforms.

In 2018, after experiencing the benefits of the new environment and the simplification in their processes, IADT decided to entirely migrate to new Nutanix nodes using the Nutanix AHV hypervisor which both facilitated the work and generated a significant decrease in costs.

As part of their Nutanix contract extension in 2020, IADT decided to reinforce its vote of confidence in the company and migrate entirely to Nutanix by adopting the Acropolis hypervisor.

Next Steps

As IADT continues to grow their business over the years, they will require further technological growth through ongoing expansion with Nutanix. IADT is currently analyzing and testing the Nutanix objects performance to transfer unstructured data and files from specific databases to this platform.

“In the healthcare industry, it is critical for IT teams to have the best technologies to stay up to date and deliver the best services,” explains Pedro Sandalis, Regional Manager for South America at Nutanix. “With IADT, we have simplified data center management by incorporating better hardware deployment solutions, facilitating time, cost, and energy savings.”
