Over the years, Citrix and Nutanix have worked together on jointly developed plugins for Citrix DaaS and the Nutanix AHV hypervisor. This partnership has taken the next step to now provide a more robust integration. We are thrilled to announce the general availability of native Nutanix Prism Central integration for Citrix DaaS! Citrix DaaS customers can now take full advantage of Prism Central features with newly enabled Nutanix integration - bringing powerful hybrid multicloud management to your fingertips.
This release marks a significant milestone in the partnership between Citrix and Nutanix, which aims to provide customers with even more simplified operations across desktop virtualization deployments, whether they are deployed on-premises, on the Nutanix Cloud Clusters solution in the public cloud, or with a Nutanix service provider.
From the Citrix press release about the Citrix Simplifies Virtual Desktop Management with Support for Nutanix Prism Central on Nutanix Cloud Platform in May, during Nutanix .NEXT:
"Citrix support for Nutanix Prism Central improves the user experience across customers' virtual desktop environments, improving productivity through greater agility, scalability and efficiency, while the NetScaler support on AHV provides a high-performing ADC and security solution," said Abhilash Verma, Chief Product Officer at Citrix. "This centralized approach simplifies operations, automates workflows, and ensures consistent policy enforcement to save time, reduce operational costs and secure the work."
Previously, customers had different Nutanix plugins to download and install depending on the deployment architecture. If Citrix DaaS was deployed on-premises or in Nutanix Cloud Clusters on AWS, then the Prism Element integration was required, while deployments on Nutanix Cloud Clusters on Azure used the newer Prism Central integration. Customers no longer have to choose and download which plugin to install; they now have a unified native integration for Citrix DaaS environments deployed across the Nutanix Cloud Platform solution, allowing them to take advantage of Prism Central features.
Citrix DaaS integration with Nutanix Prism Central includes:
Native Nutanix Prism Central integration is available for all Citrix DaaS customers. Existing Citrix DaaS deployments on Nutanix can co-exist with the new Prism Central integration. This will not impact existing Prism Element integrated or Prism Central integrated Nutanix Cloud Clusters on Azure deployed machine catalogs. Start taking advantage of the features and functionality today!
This release is a big step in our partnership and collaboration with Citrix for desktop virtualization deployments on the Nutanix Cloud Platform. Citrix DaaS native Nutanix Prism Central integration is just the beginning of more features and functionality to come for integration with Prism Central. Stay tuned for more updates. Especially Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops customers!
"Today's hybrid work environment and evolving cybersecurity threats demand robust, modern digital workspaces and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)," said Thomas Cornely, SVP Product Management at Nutanix. "With Citrix native support for Nutanix Cloud Platform powered by AHV Hypervisor, customers can deploy VDI and NetScaler VPX in their on-premises datacenter or across public cloud providers at any scale —and manage it all through a unified platform that provides consistency, security, and control. The Citrix and Nutanix partnership offers more choice and greater operational simplicity."
