Enhanced Backup and Restore for Nutanix Prism

The Nutanix Prism management console is your single pane of glass for managing Nutanix clusters, whether they are on-premises or in the cloud. With the Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) 7.3 release, we're introducing powerful enhancements to backup and restore capabilities, giving you more flexibility and control over your data protection strategy.

Backup to Nutanix Objects Storage

We have extended Prism Central point-in-time backup targets to include the S3-compatible Nutanix Objects Storage solution. Previously, Prism Central backups were allowed on Prism Element clusters using continuous backup and to AWS S3 using point-in-time backups.

This enhancement allows you to keep your backups within your Nutanix infrastructure, which is ideal for dark site deployments and customers seeking alternatives to AWS S3. It is designed to  strengthen your protection against ransomware, data loss and availability-zone failures.

Configurable RPO for Point-In-Time Backups

This NCI 7.3 release also introduces customizable recovery point objectives (RPOs) for point-in-time backups to Nutanix Objects Storage and AWS S3. Previously fixed at two hours, the RPO can now be set to 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, or 24 hours. This provides greater flexibility for your business continuity planning.
