Nutanix Marketplace is a one-stop platform where Nutanix customers can easily access and deploy a wide range of Nutanix and Nutanix Preferred Partner applications.

Accessible within the Prism Central multicloud management console from Nutanix, the Marketplace empowers IT teams to easily discover Nutanix solutions, such as Files Storage, Objects Storage, Nutanix Database Service (NDB), Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM), and quickly deploy them on the Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP) solution. The Nutanix Marketplace offers a uniform and repeatable method for provisioning and managing these apps and provides a streamlined experience for IT operations. One of the standout features of the Nutanix Marketplace is its ability to integrate and offer Preferred Partner applications.

Developed in collaboration with Nutanix partners, these apps are certified and tested to ensure compatibility with NCP. Customers can easily find and deploy these partner apps directly from the Prism console to simplify the process of extending their infrastructure with best-in-class solutions.

We're excited to announce the latest addition to the Preferred Partner section of the Nutanix Marketplace: the Cisco Intersight Device Connector app with Prism Central Version 2024.3. This powerful integration marks a significant milestone in bridging the Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) with Cisco Intersight.

Cisco Intersight infrastructure services include the deployment, monitoring, management, and support of your physical and virtual infrastructure. It supports Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) and Cisco HCI and other third-party Intersight-connected targets.

Cisco Intersight Device Connector

What is the Cisco Intersight Device Connector?

The Cisco Intersight Device Connector app enables Nutanix Prism to securely connect to the Cisco Intersight SaaS platform or on-premises virtual appliance. This connection allows IT to monitor, manage and automate the infrastructure using Cisco advanced features of Cisco Intersight while running Nutanix clusters including:

  • Cisco HCI, Nutanix cluster and node details and statistics, memory, storage, and CPU utilization

  • View alerts, Nutanix license compliance and violations, and Nutanix Lifecycle Management information.

By embedding this device connector in Prism Central, Nutanix provides a secure, streamlined method for endpoints to communicate with the Cisco Intersight portal over the Internet. IT teams can now claim and unclaim their Nutanix infrastructure directly through Cisco Intersight using Cisco’s well-established security protocols.

Key features of Cisco Intersight integration with Nutanix Prism Central

  • Enable on-demand. Simply deploy and manage the Cisco Intersight Device Connector app from the Nutanix marketplace.

  • Secure device claiming. To manage devices in the Cisco Intersight platform, they must first be claimed through the embedded Device Connector in Prism, which ensures secure integration between Nutanix clusters and Cisco Intersight.

  • Resource efficiency. Nutanix customers can deploy the Cisco Intersight Device Connector with minimal resource overhead.

  • Lifecycle management. Easy zero-touch upgrades via Nutanix Lifecycle Management whenever a new version of the device connector is available on the download site.

Cisco Compute Hyperconverged with Nutanix: A powerful combination

This integration also unlocks the Cisco Compute Hyperconverged with the Nutanix solution, a cutting-edge infrastructure that combines Cisco UCS, Intersight management platform, and Nutanix hyperconverged software. This co-engineered solution supports Cisco HCI M6 and M7 rack servers and Cisco HCI X-Series M7 Modular Server, which allows Nutanix clusters to be deployed with ease.

Our customers are very excited to hear about Cisco Intersight and Nutanix Prism Central integration using Cisco Device Connector. This integration provides customers with greater visibility and insights to Cisco HCI solution running Nutanix software and provides customers with unified experience and ease of use across their Cisco UCS Compute and Cisco Compute hyperconverged infrastructure in terms of managing and monitoring their environment. The introduction of Cisco Device Connector helps Cisco to accelerate development of Day 1 observability features leveraging the Nutanix Prism Central v4 management APIs.
