Nutanix NX Platforms

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Nutanix originally started with a single hardware platform (NX) to support a single hypervisor, all of which enabled the company to hone its software capabilities and tight integration with the hardware layer, before expanding support to include other vendor platforms, hypervisors and clouds.

The latest generation NX platforms are based on the 6th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (code-named Granite Rapids) and 5th Gen AMD EPYC™ (code-named Turin) processors and provide customers with a high degree of configuration flexibility, including varied memory, storage and GPU options.

The range of Nutanix NX platforms are designed for all common on-premises hyperconverged infrastructure and hybrid cloud use cases, including but not limited to:

  • Remote office and branch office (ROBO) and edge
  • End-user computing (EUC)/VDI
  • Server virtualization and Private Cloud
  • IT Applications and Databases
  • Business-critical and enterprise apps
  • Files/Objects and Unstructured Data
  • Data protection, backup and disaster recovery
  • Analytics, big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning
