Software-Defined Hybrid Cloud Storage
NUS is ideal for data-intensive workloads like AI/ML and Big Data Analytics. With 10GB/s of sequential read throughput and 550TB of all-flash capacity per node, NUS powers any workload. By removing the need for dedicated storage systems, it simplifies operations, allowing focus on application services over infrastructure.
Combined with Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP), NUS is built for scale, performance, and integrated data security. It offers agility, flexibility, and simplicity to build modern applications and services no matter where they are deployed across the core, the cloud, or edge deployments. NUS also provides seamless access to structured and unstructured data using S3-compatible, SMB, or NFS and iSCSI protocols.
With a unified management interface and consumer-grade design, NUS reduces complexity, enabling non-storage experts (app owners, data scientists and security administrators) to handle most day-to-day storage and data management tasks.
Data security and analytics integrated into the solution via Nutanix Data Lens (NDL), provide deep insights into how data is being used and helps to prevent threads from ransomware and other bad actors. With integrated ransomware protection, NUS helps to detect, prevent, and recover from cyber attacks.
Extend to Public Cloud & Global Federated Namespace
NUS 5.1 introduces significant flexibility by enabling users to implement and deploy an instance of NUS Files directly on AWS, independent of any Nutanix infrastructure components. This allows efficient use of public cloud storage without needing additional NCP components like Nutanix Cloud Clusters. With Files in AWS, users can increase efficiency, optimize data locality, and minimize deployment costs for next-gen use cases like data protection, data analytics, and AI/ML.
Traditionally, managing large-scale file environments required deploying multiple file servers or one large cluster, making it difficult to mitigate hardware failure bringing down all data services. However, NUS 5.1 offers a better solution: a unified federated namespace that consolidates user access to file shares under a single access point. Building upon this same capability for Object Stores, objects stored in on-premises instances or in AWS S3 can be managed under a single global namespace.
For File or Object storage, this enables a fast and seamless data access experience for users, while simplifying management for operations teams by consolidating and streamlining the administration of all file and object instances across the environment. As a result, businesses experience streamlined data management, enhanced user productivity and reduced complexity.
