Nutanix Government Cloud Clusters is Now Generally Available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud
AWS European Sovereign Cloud, starting with the Germany region (eusc-de-east-1)
Nutanix Government Cloud Clusters (GC2) platform is now generally available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, starting with the Germany region (eusc-de-east-1). Organizations across Europe can now run the Nutanix Cloud Platform on AWS bare metal inside a sovereign cloud designed to keep European data and operations in Europe.
This matters because Government Cloud Clusters solution runs the entire Nutanix control plane inside the customer's own cloud boundary, enabling data and day to day operations to stay within the jurisdiction they are bound to. For public sector agencies and regulated enterprises, the combination of a sovereign cloud region and a self contained operating model removes a long standing barrier to adopting public cloud.

What Nutanix Government Cloud Clusters delivers
Government Cloud Clusters brings the same Nutanix Cloud Platform that customers already run on premises and in other clouds, this time on dedicated AWS bare metal that is provisioned and managed entirely from within the customer environment. There is no dependency on an externally hosted Nutanix control plane, which is what makes the model a fit for sovereign and tightly isolated deployments. Teams keep the operational experience they know, including Prism and lifecycle operations, while staying inside their own boundary.
Bringing that model to the AWS European Sovereign Cloud means European organizations no longer have to choose between modern cloud infrastructure and their goal of meeting strict sovereignty requirements. They can have both.
Built for the strict access requirements
On the right side IAM roles are automatically created. On the left hand side, individual CloudFormation templates can be run by the properly scoped AWS user.
Sovereign and highly regulated environments often place tight limits on who can create or assume identity and access management (IAM) roles. With this release, GC2 lets security teams create the least privilege roles a deployment needs ahead of time, separately from the deployment itself.
An administrator can establish exactly the permissions required, and a separate operator can then deploy the cluster using only the access they have been granted. The result is clean separation of duties and a deployment that can fit within even the highly restrictive account policies, including environments where the person running the deployment is not permitted to create or assume roles at all.

Nutanix Move makes quick work of migrating applications without refactoring
Standing up a cluster in a sovereign environment is only half the story. You also need a supported way to get your applications there. This release adds official support for the Nutanix Move migration tool with Government Cloud Clusters, enabling you to migrate virtual machines into and out of GC2 clusters without refactoring.
Organizations can lift existing workloads into the European Sovereign Cloud and move them back or elsewhere as needs change, all through a familiar and supported migration path. Together with the new region, Move support turns GC2 in the European Sovereign Cloud from a place you can build into a place you can actually bring your business.
