Pride Month Year Round

Qutants is more than just a name—it represents a uniquely spirited collective dedicated to empowering its members, fostering connection and personal growth.

Formed in 2017 as an LGBTQIA+ community slack channel, our Qutants LIFE group, also known as an Employee Resource Group, has since flourished into a thriving global network. Just picture a kaleidoscope of over 156 talented individuals across the globe, united by their shared identity as a Qutant.

But what exactly is a Qutant? Here at Nutanix, we occasionally refer to each other internally as Nutants. Qutants are extraordinary employees who proudly identify as members or allies of the LGBTQIA+ community. From engaging learning opportunities to heartfelt acts of giving back, Qutants global community is on a mission to create positive change both within our company and beyond. 

Increasing Awareness & Inclusivity

Rallying together, the Qutant employee community helps sponsor and drive awareness of the LGBTQIA+ community within the company and our industry. This frequently includes educational opportunities through global discussions, panels, and training. Previously Qutants have hosted Safe Zone Trainings and discussions featuring guest speakers like advocate, Amber Briggle and Ph.D. candidate, Lazarus Letcher.

This is from the Safe Zone training in our Mexico City Office. Safe Zone trainings provide information and resources related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression designed to make the Nutanix community a safer and more inclusive place. 

These community initiatives open authentic conversations on LGBTQIA+ issues such as coming out at work and supporting queer or transgender children, friends, and coworkers.

Global Connection and Celebration

Through vibrant social events and engaging group meetings, our Qutants Pride transcends geographical boundaries, fostering a global sense of inclusion and empowerment. Beyond Pride Month, the Qutants group regularly brings employees together to celebrate events year-round, including World Pride Day, Transgender Day of Visibility, International Pronouns Day, and more.

Supporting the Community

Qutant members are always sharing their hearts by giving back to local and worldwide LGBTQIA+ communities throughout the year. These opportunities include initiatives like inclusive office bathrooms, volunteering, sponsoring LGBTQIA+ career fairs and conventions, and researching organizations for company donations. 

Here are just a few of the organizations Nutanix employees are supporting through our internal .heart donation program for 2023 Pride Month:

• Human Rights Campaign Foundation (US): Seeking to fundamentally change the way LGBTQ+ people are treated and working to change policies, practices, hearts, and minds.
• Yaaj Transformando Tu Vida, A.C. (Mexico): A group committed to promoting, defending, and guaranteeing the sexual, reproductive, and human rights of the LGBTQIA+ community, all from a gender and youth approach.
• RAAHI (India): Raahi is a Karnataka-based organisation that works on the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community
• Kaleidoscope Diversity Trust (UK): Funding, fighting for, and empowering those upholding the human rights of LGBTQIA+ people to effect meaningful and lasting change in the lives of LGBTQIA+ people everywhere.

Although Pride Month is a celebration of all the LGBTQIA+ community has achieved, it is also a commemoration of historical injustices and the ongoing campaign for rights. Thanks to the Qutants LIFE Group for continuing to teach, discuss, and make #LifeAtNutanix a place where every employee can feel comfortable being themselves!
