Nutanix Inc. （本社：米国カリフォルニア州、プレジデント兼CEO: Rajiv Ramaswami 以下、Nutanix）は本日、「Microsoft Ignite 2025」にて、同社のNutanix Cloud Platformソリューションがハイブリッド環境向けのMicrosoft Azure Virtual Desktopをサポートすることを発表しました。これにより、企業はオンプレミス環境のNutanix AHVハイパーバイザー上でAzure Virtual Desktopを実行できるようになり、仮想デスクトップの展開・管理の柔軟性がこれまでにないレベルまで向上します。
今回の取り組みは、分散型ワークフォースの進化するニーズに応えるもので、ITチームにインフラストラクチャのより幅広い選択肢を提供するとともに、コントロール、パフォーマンス、セキュリティ、コスト効率を最適化します。
Nutanixの最高商務責任者（CCO）であるTarkan Manerは、次のように述べています。「Nutanix Cloud Platformは、仮想デスクトップインフラストラクチャ（VDI）のワークロード向けに、高性能でレジリエンス、コスト効率、そしてセキュリティに優れたインフラストラクチャ基盤を提供します。今回のMicrosoftとの協業により、オンプレミス環境へのモダナイゼーションでも、ハイブリッドクラウド環境への拡大でも、仮想デスクトップの選択肢が拡充します。」
ハイブリッド環境向けのAzure Virtual Desktopは、金融サービス、医療、官公庁といった、データレジデンシーとデータ主権が重視される業界において重要なコンプライアンスおよび規制要件に対応します。顧客は、Nutanix AHV上でAzure Virtual Desktopをローカルで実行しつつ、Azure Virtual Desktopのブローカー機能とAzure Arc対応サーバー上の管理スタックを使用することで、Azureへのセキュアな接続が可能です。
Nutanix AHV上のハイブリッド環境向けのAzure Virtual Desktopの主なメリットは以下の通りです。
MicrosoftのWindows 365/Azure Virtual Desktop向け製品担当バイスプレジデントのScott Manchester氏は、次のように述べています。「Azure Virtual Desktopは、Microsoft 365やMicrosoft Teams、Windowsと緊密に統合された、安全かつスケーラブルな体験を提供できるよう構築されています。NutanixによるAzure Virtual Desktopのサポートにより、クラウドでもオンプレミスでも幅広い展開の選択肢が提供され、お客様は、最新のセキュリティを確保しながらやライセンスの効率性を維持することができます。」
NutanixはVDIの可能性を拡大し、企業が単一の導入モデルに縛られることなく、ビジネスニーズに応じて環境を柔軟にカスタマイズできるようになります。
なお、Nutanix Cloud PlatformによるAzure Virtual Desktopのサポート機能は現在開発中です。
