High Five, Nutanix Named a Five-Time Leader in HCI

in the 2021 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Hyperconverged Infrastructure Software

November 23, 2021 | min

Enterprise IT is undergoing a rapid evolution. Accelerated by work from home (WFH), transition to hybrid cloud, and accelerated digital transformation, the role of IT has shifted from a business enabler to a trusted strategic business partner.

Today, virtually all aspects of business depend on decisions being made to manage and deliver applications and data securely.  IT has been elevated as the change agent in many organizations to usher in the next era of transformation to drive market differentiation. The events of the past 18-months have created a seismic shift for organizations where secure, flexible, and self-service technology platforms are critical to be competitive, particularly in the face of uncertainty.

For the last decade, Nutanix has been guided by a vision to provide a flexible, secure, and unified technology platform as a foundation to enable organizations to flourish. What began as a distributed service fabric that replaced traditional SAN storage has revolutionized IT’s thinking, expanding to support nearly all enterprise IT initiatives, from the datacenter to the cloud.

This week, Gartner, Inc. recognized Nutanix’s vision and execution with the 2021 Magic Quadrant™ for Hyperconverged Infrastructure Software, designating Nutanix as a Leader for the fifth year in a row. Nutanix believes its continued recognition as a Leader can be attributed to its expanded and enhanced hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) software capabilities, which enable digital transformation, and high customer satisfaction, as demonstrated by an average 90 Net Promoter Score (NPS) for the past seven years.

As organizations modernize their IT ecosystem to embrace a dynamic business landscape, they are increasingly looking towards HCI as their foundation to build highly secure, resilient, and efficient hybrid multiclouds for their applications and data. The Nutanix® Cloud Platform can align to an enterprise’s journey towards cloud attainment on-premises, in the public cloud, or both. Nutanix continues to help simplify business operations by enhancing its core HCI platform capabilities while expanding the number of use cases organizations can use to streamline their move into the hybrid multicloud.

Nutanix has developed multiple service offerings by extending the core platform capabilities by leveraging the advanced distributed architecture that underpins the solution:

Leveraging the underlying distributed storage capabilities, unstructured data services provide File and Object storage from within the Nutanix HCI platform. Nutanix was recognized by Gartner as a Visionary in the 2021 Magic Quadrant for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage for the first time this year.

Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS)

Database creation and management is turbo-charged and optimized with the Nutanix Era™ database management solution, building on core infrastructure capabilities with automated provisioning, patching, copy data management, and more for the leading database engines.

Kubernetes (K8s) and Containers

Kubernetes support has expanded to include RedHat Openshift® certification for even greater flexibility building cloud-native applications across clouds.

Ransomware Protection for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR)

Nutanix platform security has been augmented with machine learning and AI to make it easier for security teams to protect, detect, and recover from Ransomware attacks and other security threats.

Lightweight Virtualization
