When it comes to building and running enterprise applications, customers want freedom of choice but also want to rely on infrastructure solutions that are certified and supported. Nutanix and Red Hat now offer fully certified solutions, along with coordinated technical support for our mutual customers.

Red Hat Satellite (Server) is a subscription compliance (licensing) solution from Red Hat. It also covers upgrades, errata, patching, etc. The main use case for AHV is subscription compliance and the ability to handle bulk licensing. Red Hat offers two subscription choices:
- Per-VM subscription: each VM has a subscription. This is low-cost for a small handful of VMs.
- Virtual Datacenter (VDC) subscription: This is a bulk, “all-you-can-eat” VM guest-OS subscription. This is a more suitable subscription solution for enterprise customers with large numbers of VMs using RHEL. VDC subscription options are now supported and available.
Virt-who is a Red Hat Satellite software component that allows VMs to report back to Satellite Server for RHEL VM guest-OS inventory. Red Hat’s native virt-who includes native support for AHV in Prism Central and Prism Element.
