Nutanix Certified Master - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCM-MCI)

The Nutanix Certified Master - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCM-MCI) 7.5 exam will measure a candidate’s ability to perform advanced level administrative functions to optimize performance—as well as troubleshoot and monitor health within the Nutanix Cloud Platform. Successful candidates demonstrate mastery of these skills and abilities. The exam will also validate the candidate’s ability to remediate and evolve the platform to be in compliance with business requirements.

A candidate taking the NCM-MCI 7.5 exam should have approximately 3-5 years of holistic IT infrastructure experience and 2-3 years of Nutanix virtualization experience or applicable training. 

The candidates are typically senior IT staff new to Nutanix, Senior NOC/SOC escalation engineers and operators, and Tier 2/3 support personnel who are able to analyze business objectives and requirements, configure platforms to support stated business requirements, and have a high degree of familiarity with API calls and CLI functionalities. 

Finally, the successful candidate should be able to analyze and implement business continuity plans and security policies.

• Use prism analysis tools to identify performance issues
• Perform health check and collect logs
• Interpret alerts and take appropriate actions for remediation
• Create reports and custom metrics to monitor the environment

Section 2 – Optimize & Scale

• Utilize runway scenarios to evaluate workload changes
• Implement workload-based best practices
• Utilize APIs to automate management tasks

Section 3 - Security

• Perform advanced cluster configuration
• Implement Flow Network Security
• Configure advanced log management
• Implement authentication according to best practices
• Implement encryption, including KMS

Section 4 – Design Implementation

• Configure Nutanix products and features to meet business needs
• Configure networking to meet business needs
• Align cluster configuration to requirements
• Configure cluster policies and features for availability and resiliency
• Create/Configure VMs based on workload requirements

Section 5 – Business Continuity

• Create protection policies based on RPO and RTO requirements
• Create recovery plans based upon application requirements
• Execute and validate recovery workflows
