Leostream and Nutanix deliver a flexible, scalable solution for virtual desktops, remote workstations, and GPU-enabled workloads across hybrid environments. Nutanix AHV provides a secure, high-performance virtualization platform, while the Leostream Remote Desktop Access Platform acts as the control layer that manages user access, session brokering, resource assignment, and display protocol orchestration.
Validated as Nutanix Ready for AHV, Leostream integrates with Nutanix Prism to manage desktop pools, monitor usage, and automate lifecycle control of virtual machines. This enables IT teams to support persistent and non-persistent VDI, Windows and Linux workloads, and GPU-accelerated use cases from a single, centralized platform.
With policy-driven access and support for multiple high-performance protocols, the joint solution allows organizations to deliver consistent user experiences while optimizing resource utilization. The result is a modern approach to end-user computing that reduces complexity, supports hybrid and multi-cloud environments, and enables IT to scale desktop and workstation delivery beyond traditional VDI architectures.
Benefits of the Partnership with Nutanix to End Users:
Unified access across desktop and workstation environments: Deliver VDI, virtual workstations, and GPU-enabled desktops through a single access layer, simplifying how users connect across Nutanix AHV and hybrid infrastructure.
Consistent, high-performance user experience: Optimize performance for each workload with flexible display protocol support, providing responsive access for everything from office applications to graphics-intensive use cases.
Policy-driven control and dynamic resource allocation: Centralize control over user access, resource assignment, and session behavior with a powerful policy engine that adapts to changing workload and user demands.
Secure, zero-trust access without added complexity: Enforce identity-based access and granular permissions without relying on VPNs, reducing attack surface while maintaining a seamless user experience.
Flexible architecture that avoids lock-in: Support multiple infrastructures, operating systems, and protocols, giving IT teams the freedom to evolve their environment without being tied to a single vendor stack.
This architecture provides a secure and centralized solution for remote desktop access by integrating Leostream with Nutanix infrastructure. External users connect through the Leostream Gateway, which securely routes authentication and connection requests to the Leostream Connection Broker. The Connection Broker serves as the core management layer, authenticating users, enforcing access policies, managing desktop pools, and coordinating desktop assignments across the Nutanix environment. By separating external access traffic from internal management operations, the architecture enhances both security and operational efficiency.
Within the Nutanix environment, Nutanix Prism and AHV provide the management and virtualization foundation for hosting remote desktops. Once users are authenticated, desktop sessions are securely routed to the assigned virtual machines. The Leostream Agent installed on each desktop continuously reports session and availability status back to the Connection Broker, enabling accurate resource management and streamlined user access. Together, these components deliver a scalable, secure, and efficiently managed virtual desktop infrastructure solution.
