Introduction
With the release of the Prism Central (PC) 7.3 and AOS 7.3 software, Nutanix introduces a feature-rich update to its Multicloud Snapshot Technology (MST) solution. This solution offers a cost-effective approach to disaster recovery across hybrid cloud environments. With MST, you can replicate snapshots from any Nutanix cluster—whether on-premises or in the cloud.
Multicloud Snapshot Technology (MST) Update
MST now adds support for Azure Blob Storage, complementing its existing support for AWS S3 storage and the Nutanix Object Storage solution.
Another major enhancement in version PC 7.3 is support for multisite disaster recovery with MST. The new multisite feature allows customers to create Protection Policies that replicate AOS snapshots to a secondary data center for disaster recovery using Sync (on-prem to on-prem only), NearSync, or Async replication. Additionally, a tertiary copy can be sent to another data center via Async using MST. Many customers are turning to the Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) solution as a third recovery site to reduce costs. With NC2, you can deploy bare-metal infrastructure during recovery, avoiding the need to keep bare-metal running 24/7.
Customers who are concerned with compliance or who are subject to regulatory standards that require resiliency including prevention of potentially-damaging digital disruptions, such as cyberattacks, system failures, or data breaches may want to take advantage of the capability of MST to provide additional data copies; giving customers the flexibility to maintain a “clean site” or Independent Recovery Environment (IRE) for testing and forensic investigations, on top of the game-changing multi-site disaster recovery capabilities that MST enables.

To make life easier for customers, deployment of MST can be done from the Prism Central Marketplace. Deployment can happen in a couple of clicks and in a secure manner. Also supported capacity of live protected VMs went up from 100 TB to 300 TB.
MST is even easier to deploy with version 7.3 and offers greater flexibility where you place your data. When combined with Nutanix DR management in Prism Central, customers can easily protect—and more importantly, easily restore—their data when needed. Upgrade to 7.3 and connect MST to Nutanix Object Storage or your preferred supported hyperscaler today.
