In an age where hybrid cloud, IaaS, and multi-cloud strategy aren’t just buzzwords, but fundamentals of enterprise computing, Microsoft and Nutanix are helping a rapidly increasing number of customers transform their datacenters with innovative, industry leading solutions. At the keynote for Nutanix’s inaugural .NEXT Conference, we were joined by Vijay Tewari, Principal Group Program Manager, Private Cloud Solutions, Microsoft Corp to highlight the strong partnership between Nutanix and Microsoft.

Having been named the first hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platform to be part of Microsoft’s Private Cloud Fast Track Program just a year ago , Nutanix has shown incredible agility in developing a robust set of solutions around Microsoft products, applications, and use cases.

To support the added growth of Nutanix customers running Hyper-V and hybrid cloud environments, Nutanix continues to leverage its presence in eight Microsoft Technology Centers globally for customer and partner-facing demonstrations, lab testing and validation, and more. Nutanix has also produced in-depth best practices guides for Microsoft Lync (now Skype for Business), Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Windows Server 2003 migration, giving customers a wide range of detailed content written by leaders in virtualization and cloud.

Most importantly, we were honored to have Vijay join Nutanix onstage yesterday for the keynote speech of .NEXT, and one of the most impactful technical sessions of the show, titled “Secrets to Building a Hybrid Cloud.” Leading this session with customers Tom Van Gramberen and Jon Forster from Synergics and Fitness First, respectively, Vijay showed what Nutanix and Microsoft’s partnership is all about—reducing complexity in enterprise IT and making infrastructure simple. Together, the group onstage showed a packed audience how to leverage both on-premises infrastructure and public cloud resources on Nutanix, highlighted by real-world best practices in enterprise hybrid cloud environments with Microsoft Azure.

Beyond the .NEXT Conference, Nutanix is also extremely proud to announce the following groundbreaking developments around Microsoft solutions this week:

  • Connectivity to Microsoft Azure for backup
  • Microsoft-supported in-guest iSCSI storage adapter for Exchange Server on vSphere
  • Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor validated for Microsoft Server Virtualization Validation Program

These three developments represent significant achievements in Nutanix’s partnership with Microsoft, and validate why Nutanix has isolated itself as a standalone leader in HCI. With the ultimate goal of delivering an uncompromisingly simple experience and making infrastructure invisible for customers in every aspect of the IT lifecycle, Nutanix is extremely proud of its high-momentum partnership with Microsoft.
