Veteran of Global Brands Brings Unique Blend of Deep HR and Operations Experience to Company Shaking up Worldwide IT Infrastructure Market
SAN JOSE, CALIF. – November 18, 2014 – Nutanix, the web-scale converged infrastructure company, today announced the appointment of Pranesh Anthapur as vice president of human resources and chief people officer. Most recently, Pranesh was the VP of HR at Walmart Global Commerce, where he helped develop the Walmart Labs brand, building the division’s talent channels and capabilities on a global scale for more than two years. Prior to Walmart Global Commerce, Pranesh held various positions in HR and operations over 13 years at Yahoo!, giving him a unique combination of skills that will help Nutanix as it continues its rapid growth.
In just over five years of existence and three years of selling, Nutanix has built a true international business with annualized sales exceeding $200 million as of July 2014 and sold to customers in over 50 countries. International sales represent a significant portion of quarterly revenue and the company now has employees in 26 countries.
“Pranesh has the ability to view HR through a business lens thanks to the blended experience he has gained throughout his 20+ year career,” said Duston Williams, chief financial officer at Nutanix. “That deep understanding of people and their importance to the overall goals of a business will be a huge asset to Nutanix as we rapidly scale to meet the demand for our solutions in the market.”
Pranesh brings to Nutanix a hands-on approach to building talent acquisition capabilities and retention, employment branding and organizational effectiveness. He will work closely with Nutanix’s management team to ensure the company’s culture and talent acquisition capabilities scale as it drives forward in the market.
“In just a few years, Nutanix has established a strong presence in the market with its web-scale technology, and as the company continues to grow, ensuring its commitment to the people that have helped build it is paramount,” said Pranesh Anthapur. “I look forward to aligning HR and people initiatives to the overall business so that Nutanix remains one of the best places to work.”
In addition to his roles at Walmart Global Commerce and Yahoo!, Pranesh held several global HR roles at Verifone-HP and GE Medical earlier in his career.
