Nutanix Named One of Bay Area’s Most Attractive Startups for Engineers by LinkedIn

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 22, 2013

Nutanix, the leading provider of hyper-efficient, massively scalable and elegantly simple datacenter infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has been recognized by LinkedIn as one of the 10 Most InDemand Startups for Bay Area Engineers. The recognition comes at a time of explosive growth for Nutanix, and demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to build world-class engineering teams and disrupt multi-billion dollar IT markets with groundbreaking converged infrastructure technologies for enterprise datacenters.

Since shipping its first Virtual Computing Platform in late 2011, Nutanix has achieved an annualized sales run rate exceeding $80 million. To fuel this phenomenal growth, the company has hired more than 160 new employees in just the last 12 months – 45 of them engineers. It has also expanded its global footprint to meet increasing worldwide demand with offices in Belgium, Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Nutanix management is committed to continuing the organization’s explosive trajectory, and plans to double in size in the next 12-18 months.

“The Bay Area has countless startups competing for talented software and hardware engineers,” said Howard Ting, vice president of marketing at Nutanix. “We take enormous pride in the exceptional caliber and diverse backgrounds of our product development teams, and are thrilled to be recognized as one of the most attractive startups in the Bay Area according to LinkedIn.”

To determine the list, LinkedIn compiled data on Bay Area companies with fewer than 500 employees that attracted the most attention from LinkedIn users with engineering backgrounds. According to LinkedIn, there are more than 287,000 Bay Area professionals on LinkedIn in engineering and related roles. Past winners include leading brands such as Box, Cloudera, Square and Pinterest.

“Companies succeed or fail based on the quality of their talent – especially among startups. Hiring a handful of rock stars can completely change a startup’s trajectory. That’s easier said than done though when competing against larger, better-known companies,” said Dan Shapero, vice president of LinkedIn Talent Solutions and Insights. “That’s why talent brand is so critical. This year’s ten InDemand startups have quickly established strong talent brands that have helped them hire some of the Bay Area’s best engineers, increasing their chances of success.”

“With fierce competition for engineering talent from tech giants such as Facebook and Google, it can be hard to compete for talent in Silicon Valley,” said Kevin O’Kane, director of talent acquisition at Nutanix. “We’ve found success with the combination of a great team, outstanding benefits and the adrenaline that comes with doing truly groundbreaking work while targeting a massive market opportunity.”
