Nutanix Spearheads SAN-Less Datacenter Revolution in Japan

Nutanix Complete Cluster

Nutanix Complete Cluster is the first turnkey system for virtualized workloads, completely eliminating the need for complex and expensive enterprise shared-storage. Employing the same distributed system techniques that power Google, Amazon, Facebook and Netflix datacenters, Nutanix provides just-in-time infrastructure as business demands grow — a perfect fit for end user computing (VDI), private cloud, and Big Data workloads. The solution is built upon the Nutanix Distributed File System, a patent-pending technology that localizes data to boost performance and dramatically reduce storage network traffic. The Nutanix Complete Cluster is a high-performance hardware plus software solution that enables companies to virtualize their datacenters at a fraction of the cost of traditional server and SAN infrastructure. By combining server and storage resources into a single tier of infrastructure, Nutanix Complete Cluster re-unites storage and processor resources that have historically been separated by slow and inefficient network fabrics.

Nutanix Complete Cluster starts with an ultra-dense form-factor, packing four industry standard x86 servers in a 2U enclosure. Each enclosure ships with standard VMware hypervisors, 48 cores, up to 768GB RAM, and 21TB of both flash and spindle disks. A 2U block is capable of supporting 100 virtual servers or 300 virtual desktops without the need for an expensive external SAN or NAS. Nutanix’ innovative Nutanix Distributed File System (NDFS), a patent-pending technology, localizes data to boost performance and dramatically reduces storage related network traffic. Heat-Optimized tiering maximizes both performance and capacity without compromise. Additional enclosures can be dynamically linked together for just-in-time infrastructure as business demands grow — a perfect fit for End User Computing (VDI), Private Cloud, and Big Data workloads.

Record Rate of Customer Deployments

“Customers are experiencing the transformational benefits of bringing compute and storage together and our unprecedented success in Japan is proof of that,” said Sudheesh Nair, Vice President of Sales for Nutanix. “We are very happy to have Nissho join the Nutanix Solution Reseller program, leading the charge in a market hungry for datacenter convergence.”

Adoption of Nutanix Complete Cluster has been swift in Japan and several customers have already benefited from deployment including major universities, national research labs and large service providers. By eliminating the need for expensive enterprise SAN or NAS that creates datacenter bottlenecks, Nutanix is allowing Japanese organizations to unlock the power of Big Data and private cloud technologies that demand high levels of performance and scalability.

Nissho Electronics, a VMware Solution Premier Partner and a Citrix Distributor, enables customers to virtualize their datacenter and desktop infrastructure with leading edge products. Nissho is also proud to announce the addition of Nutanix Complete Cluster to its portfolio of cloud technology solutions.
