To determine the list, LinkedIn compiled data on Bay Area companies with fewer than 500 employees that attracted the most attention from LinkedIn users with engineering backgrounds. According to LinkedIn, there are more than 287,000 Bay Area professionals on LinkedIn in engineering and related roles. Past winners include leading brands such as Box, Cloudera, Square and Pinterest.
