We had the opportunity to talk with Milind Halapeth, General Manager for the Cloud and Datacenter Practice and Sandeep Lugani, Senior Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Wipro Ltd. about the challenges they see their customers facing and what they are looking forward to seeing at .NEXT, here are some excerpts from the interview.

1. Thank you for your time today, it would be great if you could start by telling our readers a little about Wipro Ltd and your key areas of expertize.

Of course, Wipro Ltd is a global information technology, consulting and outsourcing company, we have around 157,000 employees with customers in over 175 cities across 6 continents. Our company revenue for last year was in excess of $7.3 billion.

2. Some impressive numbers there, can you tell us a little about the key areas and projects you are responsible for?

Our key areas of responsibility are to address the business challenges our CEOs and CIOs in large Enterprise organizations are facing. We do this by predictable technology budgeting, infrastructure technology transformation & lifecycle management as well as driving IT operational efficiency.

3. So tell us some of the key challenges that you are seeing your customers face?

One of the main challenges we are seeing in the Enterprise space is as companies adapt their business focus, they automatically expect IT to align. However, we’re seeing that IT is constrained with the legacy architectures and service models, and the IT practices which have worked in the past are not seen to be scalable in the new world. Also, as the businesses go through M&A, divestitures, and enter new segments and geographies, IT is struggling to deal with the complexity of scale and scope. These in turn are impacting business outcomes in agility and revenue growth. At Wipro we are well positioned to be a partner and co-innovator to enable customers in their transformation journey.

4. As one of our key sponsors at .NEXT what are you looking forward to seeing?

We are really looking forward to seeing how Nutanix products and services will continue to bring disruptive technology to the datacenter space. Some of the key areas we are interested in hearing about are containerized application hosting over a hyperconverged infrastructure.

5. What are you most looking forward to bringing back to your team and your customers?

We are really interested in learning more about innovation in datacenter technologies through real life customer stories. We see on the agenda that you have some really interesting customer speaking sessions, it will be great to hear more about the business benefits they’ve achieved.
