It’s been slightly over a quarter since the official launch of the Dell XC Web-scale Converged Appliance and Wyse DataCenter Appliance XC at Dell World, and the partnership continues to thrive. Just a few weeks ago, over 2100 Dell sales team members heard from Nutanix SVP of Sales, Sudheesh Nair, at Dell’s FRS event. Riding a huge wave of momentum following the event, demand has never been higher to deliver hyperconverged solutions to customers and competitive prospects.
To expand their Software-Defined Storage (SDS) Portfolio and stay consistent delivering solutions with the latest hardware technology available, Dell announced today the new Dell XC Series 2.0 built on proven Dell PowerEdge 13G (Haswell-based) servers and powered with the latest Nutanix software. Dell XC Series 2.0 includes three different new models: XC630 (1 node, 1U) which packs more power in half the rack space of the XC720xd and two flavors of the new XC730xd which supports up to 60% more storage than the 1.0 offerings. Check out the new datasheet here.
Dell will also have the flexibility to design exact Dell XC Series 2.0 solutions for the customer’s specific virtualized workloads by utilizing a new configure-to-order (CTO) procurement model. The new CTO procurement model will allow to select quantity of processors, memory, drive and NICs enabling more granular configurations to meet the needs of customers’ workloads. Dell is targeting the following virtual workloads within their customer and competitive prospects to sell Dell XC Series: Server Virtualization, VDI, ROBO, Private Cloud Dev/Test and Big Data
We’re excited to see this partnership flourish and look forward to many Dell XC success stories to come. For now, the new Dell XC Web-scale Converged Appliance 2.0 is available to quote, configure and sell as of February 25th, 2015 with ship dates targeted for March 3rd in the North America and Worldwide later in March.
