We recently sat down to chat with Eric van ‘t Hoff, Nutanix Alliance Manager for EMEA at Dell Technologies. Eric has been an expert and evangelist for Dell XC Series since the early days of the partnership, and shares his unique perspective leading into Nutanix’s inaugural user conference in Europe. Dell Technologies will be a Platinum sponsor at .NEXT in Vienna on November 8th-10th.
How is the Nutanix alliance evolving with the new Dell EMC organization?
With the Dell EMC merger, which closed on September 7th and resulted in a combined company called Dell Technologies, the Nutanix alliance has become even bigger. We now have more field teams available to assist customers with the best hyper-converged solutions for their workloads.
What about the Dell XC Series is interesting to customers in the European Market?
Our customer’s workloads come in all sizes and shapes. The beauty of the XC Series is that its architecture is flexible enough to optimize capacity and performance across CPU, memory and storage. Whether customers are looking at Nutanix for workloads related to Private Cloud, Big Data, Virtualization, Database or Desktop Virtualization (VDI), we can address their needs.
VDI has generated the strongest interest by far since the launch of our XC Series back in November 2014. Customers looking to scale their virtual desktops from 50 to tens of thousands of desktops in a truly linear fashion without any compromise on performance and ease of use have found that functionality in the XC Series.
Additionally, Nutanix being positioned as a disruptive innovation in the SAN market made our customers realise that hyper-convergence is becoming the new normal for competing in today’s digital economy. European enterprises in all industries and of all sizes are increasingly looking at IT environments that allow them to start small and grow big. The Dell XC Series is addressing this demand by offering agility, speed, scalability and ease of management.
What are you looking forward to most at .NEXT Europe?
From a technical point of view, I’m looking forward to hearing more about Nutanix’s path to full mobility of VMs between virtual environments, between private and public clouds, and to fully containerised environments. From a professional point of view, I’m looking forward to meeting with customers from all across Europe and discussing going big with hyper-convergence.
