Microsoft TechEd Barcelona Meets Web-Scale with Nutanix!
You can tell that October is THE IT event month in many regions across the world… some of you have likely visited a number of shows, seminars, and sessions in your own country or more exotic places! In Europe for instance, VMWorld took place last week in Barcelona, and from October 27 through November 1, Microsoft TechEd will take place in the exact same venue, the Fira Conference Center.
It was great to be in Barcelona last week, and we look forward to getting back there for Microsoft TechEd, as there are so many fantastic things happening with the Nutanix and Microsoft relationship.
In January of this year, we announced Microsoft Hyper-V support for the Nutanix platform, and interest from the Microsoft community, including Microsoft customers has increased exponentially in the last 10 months.
A large number of Microsoft customers are now looking at Nutanix to deploy their virtual workloads and build their next generation datacenters in private, hybrid, and public clouds. We look forward to seeing you at our TechEd Barcelona stand #205 to share insights and answer your questions during the week!
What will Nutanix be doing and talking about at Microsoft TechEd? Here’s a summary…
Private & Hybrid Clouds with Microsoft & Nutanix
In July, the Nutanix reference architecture for private cloud deployments, including Azure Pack, was validated by Microsoft. That means a lot to us, as it’s a great proof point that Microsoft believes our solution can help accelerate deployments and deliver value faster, with far less complexity. If you are attending TechEd, stop by to meet our experts at the Nutanix booth to learn how we are enabling private and hybrid clouds based on our web-scale architecture!
Windows 2003 Server EoS
As many of you are aware, Microsoft has announced end of support for Windows 2003 Server, and preparations are already underway by many enterprises to migrate to the new Windows 2012 R2 Server platform. What that can mean for applications and infrastructure is a key topic. Microsoft is estimating it could take 200 days for simple OS and applications migrations, while more complex migration operations could take 300 days or more. Nutanix has developed a migration program that provides a comprehensive migration guide and planning services, as well as application migration services to supported versions of Windows Server. Visit the Nutanix booth to get the details on how Nutanix can ensure a much smoother transition with less hassle, risk, and cost.
Synergics on Private Clouds with Hyper-V & Azure Pack
Nothing says more than hearing a customer speak about their IT challenges and their approach to solving them. We are pleased to have one of our key EMEA customers, Tom van Gramberen from Synergics (Belgium) speak about how Synergics implemented a hybrid cloud model. Using Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Azure Pack, and the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform, they are now delivering services faster and easier, and with less cost. This is a must-see session!

It’s cool to see so many technical experts together at Microsoft TechEd, and we look forward to spending a lot of time with you! At Nutanix, the community is deeply embedded in our way of working. Last week in the Netherlands for example, our SVP of Product Management and Marketing, Howard Ting, delivered a personal technology update to Dutch community members and our technology ecosystem partners, including Microsoft.
Tonight (Sunday, October 26), the Nutanix crew will attend The Krewe community event in Barcelona to mingle, and meet old friends and new faces. The Krewe is always organizing cool events at great places. Tonight’s event will not be different, with a venue like the 7 Sins Bar! If you have not registered for The Krewe event yet, we recommend you do, because you don’t want to miss it. We hope to connect with you there!
