Nutanix Wins Best of VMworld 2013 Gold Award for Private Cloud Computing

Nutanix is the Only Company to Receive Best of VMworld Recognition for Past Three Consecutive Years

SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 28, 2013

Nutanix, the leading provider of hyper-efficient, massively scalable and elegantly simple datacenter infrastructure solutions, today announced that its NX-6000 Virtual Computing Platform won the TechTarget Best of VMworld 2013 Gold Award in the Private Cloud Computing category. This is the third consecutive year Nutanix has been recognized by the Best of VMworld Awards, making the company one of the most celebrated at VMworld and throughout the virtualization community. In addition to winning this year’s Private Cloud Computing award, Nutanix was a TechTarget Best of VMworld 2012 Finalist in the Hardware and Virtualization category, and won the TechTarget Best of VMworld 2011 Gold Award in the Desktop Virtualization category.

“The TechTarget Best of VMworld Awards recognize companies that are making the biggest impact in virtualization, and it is an honor to be a 2013 award winner,” said Binny Gil, director of engineering, Nutanix. “The Virtual Computing Platform has transformed how enterprises design and manage virtual datacenters, allowing customers to tailor storage and compute resources to their unique demands. As part of the engineering team who built the NX-6000 platform, this award is extremely gratifying and inspires us to accelerate our momentum and continue to deliver the innovation our customers – and the virtualization community at large – have come to expect.”

The highly-coveted Best of VMworld Awards are determined through a rigorous selection process involving industry luminaries and editors from SearchServerVirtualization who selected winners based on a number of criteria including technology innovation, performance, ease of use and manageability and market value. The judges were impressed with Nutanix’s “private cloud in a box” technology, which stood out among the more than 200 nominees and 160 evaluated products on display at the 2013 VMworld conference. The awards are an annual feature of the conference and constitute prestigious recognition from the virtualization community.

As the fastest growing enterprise infrastructure company of the past decade, Nutanix delivers unmatched innovations in performance, scalability and user experience to provide IT managers with a robust platform for building and operating virtual datacenters. The Virtual Computing Platform is the industry’s first converged datacenter platform to independently scale storage and compute resources. The NX-6000 platform makes it simple and affordable for enterprises to scale their datacenters while allowing them to add storage capacity as needed for applications with large data sets such as big data projects, high-end databases or demanding virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
