Nutanix Inc., a company developing appliances that combine storage and servers in a single box, is expected to release its first product Tuesday.
The San Jose-based company is launching its flagship product, Nutanix Complete Cluster, to let all companies build a data center that emulates those of the most advanced Web companies. Many of those don't have a separate storage network, but distribute their storage across their servers.
Nutanix will focus on selling to companies that are discovering that their storage costs are escalating as they use more server virtualization software, said Ajeet Singh, its chief product officer.
The company has raised $13.2 million in Series A funding from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Blumberg Capital.
